The first place i visited was the hospital and I checked out a marijuana hand out and it causes you to misjudge speed, braking, and effects perception. You may have poor coordination also memory loss and reduced attention. I think people should not smoke marijuana at all. Beginning drivers have a higher crash risk. A crash at 10mph can even give you brain damage. I looked at a cat scan photo of the brain. I learned what a brain injury looks like where bad injuries occur. The effects of brain damage could be: cannot concentrate, forget things, loss of smell or taste, difficult with motor vehicle skills, or mood swings. Using a seat belt reduces your risk of dying in a crash by 60%. I then looked at an alcohol poster and it said alcohol slows messages to the brain, slurred speech, blurred vision and poor judgement. When you drink you can get memory black outs and you can make bad decisions.
Then I went to a school. I learned how to deal with drunks that I don't want them to drive. Getting impaired people to not drive is more than 50% of the time. Safe alternatives could be to get the keys: use a direct approach away from a crowd so they don't get embarrassed. "Hey dude can i please get the keys because you are not in any condition to drive". Find another driver: relaxed approach, "I'm sober and i can drive for you, i have drove you places before and i will take it easy on your car". Delay driver: use it when they are more likely to agree. Try to waste as much time as possible. "Why don't you wait until you sober up and me and you will hang out". Use another angle: use it when they claim they're not drunk. Use better alternative words like tired. "Hey you seem tired why don't you have someone else drive". Let them go: this is not a good move, do not let them leave, stop them by getting more people to convince them. Then i watched emotional impact clips about people in car crashes. The first one was the impaired driver. He hit a car, in the car that got hit, a man was ejected and a woman was killed. The impaired driver got homicide charges and drunk driving effected his life in a bad way. The second clip was a victim, she was going to a 16th birthday party alone and a drunk driver hit her in the driver side door and she has problems walking and other problems with her body. The drunk drivers friends tried to stop him before he left. The last clip was a family of a victim. She had her life planned out, friends from far away came to visit her on spring break. They were hit by a car broadside who ran a red light going approximately 70 mph. She died instantly from a broken neck. For every teen killed in a crash about 100 others suffer non-fatal injuries. I think none of these incidents would have happened if these people were not drinking and driving. I also think they would have lived if they wore there seat belts.
I went to the lawyer and i looked at case penalties of a girl who was impaired and ran a red light and hit a car at 60 mph. 4 teens were killed and one was injured. I looked a the defense and the police tried to get her to take a breathalyzer but she wouldn't and they got a warrant for a blood test, but it wasn't accurate because it was not refrigerated. Prosecution: She had 5 drinks and was speeding at 60mph and she also lied to the police about how many drinks she consumed. I chose my verdict as guilty in the second-degree murder and the jury also agreed with me. I listened to the victims statements on how they missed there loved ones and the driver got charged with a minimum of 60 years. The definition of a totaled car: If the cost of the damage is greater than the value of the its self. An old car can be considered totaled even if it is a little damage. I then went to financial costs to see how much it cost when you get charged for drinking, driving, and being underage. I think that the high cost is reasonable because it is not okay at all to drink underage and drive.
Finally, i went to the police and learned that crashes are twice as likely when teenage drivers have teenage passengers. Then they showed the steps of getting arrested. First, get pulled over and they need a reason like swerving. Second, field sobriety test if the officer smells alcohol. Third, Miranda rights. Fourth, breath, blood, urine test to see how much alcohol you have consumed. Fifth, after book you are held on bail and you have to pay bail. Sixth, open release and court date to see if guilty or not guilty. Seventh, trial and the judgment of you being guilty or not guilty.
In the crash site i am the bicyclist and i suffer from memory loss and minor injuries. The driver will get the maximum sentence. I think people should not drink or use drugs while driving. People should wear their seat belt because it can save your life. Make good decisions when you drive and drive safely.
